Pilates Physio Style offers tailored pregnancy (pre-natal classes) and after pregnancy (post-natal classes). Our team have graduate qualifications in women’s health and have been providing evidence-based treatment and advice to women since 2004. We offer one-on-one consultations as well as group pre-natal and post-natal physio classes. This allows the women who enter our care to feel well supported and more comfortable about the changes that are happening within their bodies.
If problems do arise, we have on-site women’s health physiotherapists at hand, who can provide the best quality care. They can monitor and treat your condition, while also modifying your program for the best possible outcome. We want to see you reach your goals, so we’ll do everything we can to guide and ensure that your pre-natal and post-natal physio journey is optimised.
Scientific evidence has shown that there is a link between stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and back pain, and that women who experience SUI during pregnancy are more likely to experience incontinence in the postnatal period. Hence why, it is important to address the pelvic floor specifically in all our classes or one on one for new or expectant mothers before it becomes an issue.
For those who have already been dealing with pelvic floor issues there is major evidence supporting that individualised and supervised pelvic floor muscle training delivered by a physiotherapist helps prevent or reduce SUI and prolapse.
Pilates Physio Style classes are “pelvic floor” safe, individually tailored, and progressive.
We help you to have a better understanding of your body’s changes while showing you ways to overcome discomfort, improve your spinal and pelvic stability and strength. Our team of physiotherapists are here to help prepare you for giving birth and assist you post-delivery to help your body recover not just on the outside, but the inside too. After your pregnancy, all women need to know that they’re not alone. Our physiotherapists are incredibly understanding of changes of behaviour within your body and even your mind. By following these carefully planned exercises, not only will you be calmer, but you’ll meet some amazing women along the way.
Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, though it does take a massive toll on your body physically and emotionally. Our experienced physiotherapists are here to assist you with any queries you may have about the changes in your body and how you can regain your strength while feeling good in a safe environment.
